Pre-College Programs
Wake Forest Pre-College Programs are designed for high school students to experience academic rigor, dynamic learning and enriching social interactions in a supportive college environment. All of our programs are meant for enrichment and are not-for-credit, meaning students don’t have the pressure of formal grades.
“I just want to thank you, the counselors, staff, medical school, the university, the instructors, presenters and EVERYONE involved with this program for providing such an amazing opportunity and experience for Aria. She was safe, she was engaged, challenged, motivated, intrigued, encouraged, enlightened, informed, equipped, and armed for the next decisions she has to make.”
Kimberly, parent of a Pre-College Programs student

"Last summer at Wake Forest’s Coding & Computer Science Institute, I learned a lot in just one week, especially through the hands-on projects and team-based work. What stood out was how much we actually applied what we were learning to real problems. It gave me a strong foundation in python and java that I was able to use in my computer science class at school this year, and I felt much more confident from the start." -Jackson Weber, 2025 Coding & Computer Science Institute
"From a parent perspective, the Coding & Computer Science Institute was an outstanding experience for Jackson. In just one week, he gained confidence and a strong foundation that carried directly into his computer science class this school year. He also loved meeting students from all over the country and experiencing a bit of independence in a supportive environment. It was a meaningful, low-pressure way to explore a new subject, and it clearly sparked both interest and growth. Jackson enjoyed it so much that he’s returning to Wake Forest this summer to explore another one-week course." -Kristen Weber

Sam Jones (WFU `26) was an incredible part of the Summer Immersion Program team last year and we are excited to announce he will be rejoining the team for Summer 2026 as a Residence Life Coordinator.
Sam was recently featured in a series by WFU Campus Life, CARE on Film, which aims to showcase what care on campus looks like through the lens of students` perspectives.
After an unexpected medical retirement transformed his college career, Sam Jones created a path for himself in true Wake Forest fashion — with resiliency, pathways beyond those initially imagined, and a commitment to do good.
